Bio - Karen Lynn Gorney

 


 

Karen Lynn Gorney is the romantic star of SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER: the "fantasy girlfriend" (Stephanie Mangano) who said "no" to John Travolta, (after winning a dance contest with him) and won his heart. This Super-Mega-Hit film and soundtrack was recently released on DVD to raves. It is more well known and popular today than when it first came out.


Miss Gorney is also the legendary TARA MARTIN, one of the original family members (Tad's big sister, Joe Martin's daughter, Erica Kane's greatest enemy,) on ABC's long running, award winning, ALL MY CHILDREN: "Tara Martin" is a role Karen originated and still plays today when time permits.


A classically trained actress and winner of the People's Choice and European Bravo Awards; with an BFA and a MFA from Carnegie Mellon and Brandeis Universities, Miss Gorney has received raves in New York City the United States, and Internationally performing everything from Shakespeare to Neil Simon. Her new film Searching For Bobby DeNiro will be released in 2005 and available on Video and DVD through Lion's Gate's Artisan Entertainment.


Karen just completed 3 new films: Therapy, Creating Karma, and George. Currently, she performs her Dad, Jay Gorney's music (Composer of "Brother Can You Spare a Dime") in support of her new CD, HOT MOONLIGHT! available in stores and on her website karenlynngorney.com


Karen Lynn will star in a new Opera, based on "IL Trouvatore" called "Wellspring" being developed in New York City for Off B'way in an all dancing role based on the mythic character "AZUCENA."
